In preperation for downsizing my Frontosa group & future breeding i set up my grow on tank at the weekend. I bought the Aqua One AR620, which a local garden centre had on offer, although i got a lot more bits & paid less than they had it on offer for....gotta love saturday workers who don't scan properly
Bare bones
Crushed coral added
Rocks added
Water added & filter seeding from my Front tank
Finished article with blue light
and with white light

are you planning on placing the holding mothers in that tank or are you going to strip the fry from her and return her to the rio 400? would you need some type of cover or prefilter for the intake of the filter incase any fry got sucked up? _________________ Juwel Rio 300 Mbuna Thread Juwel Rekord 70 Shell Dweller Tank |

The plan is to transfer the female over & let her do her thing, the holes in the intake are not that big & by the time she is ready to release the fry will be too big & strong to get sucked up the intake.
Well thats the plan, i'm sure when it happens a spanner will be thrown into the works if i have more than one female holding then i may:
a. invest in a tumbler & strip the females of the eggs
b. leave them in the main tank, when the fry are developed strip the females
c. move one female over then strip the rest
d. block off one end of the main tank (enough room for 1 female)
e. let nature run it's course & hope for the best (last resort)
f. invest in another tank (& another house!)
so i have a few options available _________________ er....Mark
